      Title: What I Can Be
      Original Artist: Like a Storm
Remix By: C. Fleischmann, K. Meyers, A. Smith, J. McCurdy
Notes: This song is dealing with my struggles to accept myself (as a transgender woman who is autistic and primarily nonverbal) and still come to grips with the way certain of family members and the psychiatrists want me to be. This song is effectively an anthem saying that I will not be told how to be and I am a unique person no matter what anyone else wants me to be. This song was originally written for my family and the psychiatrists specifically, but it turned into the below as a general ďIím going to be me no matter who you think you are as Iím the only one with the power to direct my lifestyleÖĒ type song directed at society in general.

      [Lyrics:]
Take another look at me. Iím loving what I could be!
I donít care if Iím not good enough for you, and I donít care if I donít be verbal like you want me to. I donít care what you want to think of me, since all you want is everything that I could never be.
You say Iím a freak, I say, I am free. Come take a hook from me. Iím loving what I could be. You say, Iím unwell, I say, youíre afraid. I get stronger every day. Iím loving what I could be. Take another hook from me, Iím loving what I could be.
You think Iím nothing, since Iím nothing like you. You think you know me. You have no idea what Iíve been through. So take a shot, say what you want about me. All you want is everything that I could never be. (FAKE!)
You say Iím a freak, I say, I am free. Come take a hook from me. Iím loving what I could be. You say, Iím unwell, I say, youíre afraid. I get stronger every day. Iím loving what I could be.
Iíd rather be nonverbal than under stress. Iíd rather be autistic than just be a paper doll cutout. When itís all done, thereís only one name upon my grave. Iíd rather be a like this than be a fake.

      Tell me Iím unwell
      Tell me Iím unreal
      Tell me Iím different.
      (Iím Me!)
You say, Iím unwell, I say, youíre afraid. I get stronger everyday. Iím loving what I could be. Iím loving what I could be (I donít care). Iím loving what I could be.

      Iím me.

That's brilliant! I don't know how you do it but you're a great lyricist! I love how you channel all your real-life experiences into songs that I can realte to. Please keep up the good work :-)

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Please don't send me forum PMs looking for the actress as I will ignore them since 1) I'm just as big a fan of the actress as you probably are this is why I changed my name.

      Carly:

I echo Jennette on this one! I don't know how you come up with the excellent lyrics you do, but it always amazes me on how you take an existing song and turn it into something completely different and awesome! Have you posted the lyrics to "Lindsay" up here yet? I think that should be your next song you post (in a slightly edited form to make it appropriate for forum). I wish we could get that video for the Lindsay song up here but that's not externally available for customers. I'l have to get approval from you later about getting that uploaded to YouTube or something (If we still have the original video file).

Hugs and see the both of you at work in the morning! Glad you got out of the hospital.
